Job Opportunity: Signalling Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of signalling improvement projects in a heavy haul rail network.
* Provide on-site technical support for signalling infrastructure upgrades and renewals within a heavy haul rail environment.
* Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
* Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and verification activities throughout construction to guarantee adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), inspection reports, and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Interpret and validate signalling designs for constructability and technical compliance, taking into account factors such as cost, time, and resource allocation.
* Support the Signals Project Manager in planning, execution, and project close-out activities, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with stakeholders.
About the Role
* Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Have 3-5 years' experience in rail signalling project delivery, preferably within heavy haul or freight rail environments.
* Be familiar with Australian rail signalling standards and regulations.
* Have strong site-based experience with installation, testing, and commissioning of rail signalling systems.
* Proven ability to review technical documentation, prepare ITPs, and manage quality assurance processes, with excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
