Northern Health is seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Mental Health Clinicians to join the Acute Function of Hume Community Mental Health.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.
About the Role
Exciting opportunities exist for suitably experienced Community Mental Health Clinicians to join the Hume Community Team within Northern Health’s Mental Health Division.
The Hume Community team is a large, supportive and dynamic public mental health team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government area of Merri-bek and Hume.
Responsibilities
The Mental Health Clinician will work within the Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) function of the team, providing acute assessment and intervention to consumers and their families/carers in both an in-reach and outreach capacity.
Requirements
- The appropriate qualifications as a Grade 2/3 Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Grade 3/4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- At least two years experience post qualification
- Passion about contributing positively to the lives of consumers with mental illness and their families
- Experience in the provision of Psychiatric assessment and intervention for consumers with a mental illness
- Ability to provide general and discipline specific mental health assessment and intervention
- Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously
