About the role
We are offering a permanent part-time role for a Child and Family Practitioner for our Family Mental Health Support Service, the 4families program, that is based in our outreach offices in Bridgetown and Manjimup. This early intervention program provides counselling and case management support to children/young people at risk of developing mental illness and their families. Applicants should possess a relevant degree (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselling) and experience working with children and families.
The current vacancy is 2 days per week, one in each location. There is the possibility for a third day per week on a fixed term contract.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
* Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments: work collaboratively with clients to identify their needs and clarify goals, with a focus on addressing clients' hopes and aspirations and ascertaining their strengths and resources.
* Provide parenting support intervention to caregivers as per client assessment.
* Provide therapeutic intervention sessions with children, young people and families as per client assessment.
* Provide case management services to families, including working with other stakeholders to provide wraparound support as required.
* Experience in mental health and family and domestic violence risk assessment and risk management is essential.
* Ability to work independently at Bridgetown and Manjimup outreach offices, and remotely as part of a team based across the South West.
The position holder must also have some flexibility to work after hours if required from time to time.
