Clinical Nurse Specialist
This part-time permanent role is based in our Home and Community services within the Townsville region. As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide comprehensive specialist nursing care, clinical expertise, and leadership. You will support the service as a clinical and management resource in delivering quality and best practice nursing care while leading, motivating, and developing the Service's staff. You will also maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders.
* Apply advanced practice knowledge in community nursing or specific areas of practice, such as palliative care, gerontology, dementia, or continence.
* Manage clinical workload, including care plans, referrals, and provision of services.
* Ensure effective communication with clients and carers, responding to their needs and situations.
* Provide consulting and coaching to staff on specific cases or aspects of clinical practice.
* Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice within the Service/Program and undertake a client load under direction of the Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator.
* Implement best practice problem-solving methodologies when addressing individual actions that cause concern.
* Contribute to reviewing organisational clinical practice through participation in relevant clinical forums.
* Promote and undertake clinical research, prepare results, and present findings within the Service or on a wider organisational scale, potentially leading to publication.
* Assist with implementing new activities, systems, and other organisational changes, which may involve reviewing Service-based operating systems and implementing identified refinements/improvements.
* Coordinate resources for effective operation of nursing services.
* Assist with clinical administration, including client file reviews, program-related documentation, audits, claims preparation, and submissions.
Requirements
* Current National Police Certificate
* Current Driver's Licence and own reliable vehicle
* Degree in Nursing
* Current CPR Certification
* Current AHPRA registration and evidence of recent practice
* Postgraduate qualification in Health or other relevant/specific area of clinical practice (desirable)
* Ability and willingness to travel within the Service region
