About The Role
Join the Brain Injury Community Rehab Team (BICRT) as a
Clinical Neuropsychologist
to directly support the rehabilitation and recovery of clients with brain injuries. You will conduct neuropsychological assessments, provide evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance cognitive, psychological, and behavioural outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include
Conduct rehabilitation-focused and diagnostic neuropsychological assessments for clients with brain injuries.
Provide recommendations on clients' capacity for work, driving, financial management, and guardianship, and advise on strategies to compensate for cognitive impairments.
Liaise with medical staff, case managers, therapists, and external agencies regarding clients' cognitive, psychological, and behavioural needs.
Prepare detailed neuropsychological reports and give clear verbal and written feedback to clients, families, and staff.
Assess clients' behavioural and psychological status and deliver appropriate psychological interventions and behavioural management strategies where applicable.
Contribute to BICRT team meetings, quality initiatives, professional development, and service improvement activities.
Offer psychological insights to support rehabilitation programming and optimise client outcomes.
Prioritise workloads in line with changing service demands and review priorities with the psychology professional leader.
Record client-related information in line with Royal Rehab policies, balancing inter-disciplinary communication and client confidentiality.
Produce high-quality psychological reports to support client care and clinical decision-making.
About You
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with the following essential criteria:
Essential Criteria
Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited Master's Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology.
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Clinical Neuropsychology endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) with endorsement to practice in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology or eligibility to progress to endorsement through the registrar programme.
Demonstrated expertise in conducting neuropsychological assessment and the ability to adapt standardised approaches to meet the needs of clients with complex disability.
Knowledge of recognised diagnostic criteria (e.g., DSM-IV and/or ICD-10) and experience in their application.
Experience in preparing neuropsychological reports for a professional audience and interpreting reports for a lay audience.
Competence in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence with access to own vehicle.
