Nurse Manager – Voluntary Assisted Dying Navigation Service d)

Overview
As Nurse Manager, you will lead the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Navigation Service, a central hub providing information, support and coordination for people, families, carers, health professionals and the public in Tasmania. You will work closely with the VAD Commission, Pharmacy Service, and clinical providers, ensuring delivery of safe, compliant, and compassionate VAD services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and coordination to deliver service priorities within a health service in accordance with best practice principles, legislative requirements, and a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.
* Oversee day‑to‑day management of the VAD Navigation Service, including human resources, service preparedness and delivery, and financial and resource management.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the VAD Commission, Pharmacy Service, VAD clinical providers, and other agencies.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards, and lead continuous service improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in a complex health environment, including management of financial, physical and human resources.
* Experience in project management, service design, development, and improvement, with the ability to produce, review and update a variety of written material for diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate policies, protocols and procedures, providing advice on appropriate changes within a health care setting.
Desirable Criteria
* Postgraduate qualification or experience in clinical practice management, health service management, leadership or service design.
* Knowledge of the End‑of‑Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021.
* Current driver's licence.
Salary & Package
\>Salary: $126,036 to $132,932 per annum (pro‑rate). Superannuation contribution of 12% is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Salary packaging: access to a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, plus other eligible benefits.

Eligibility
Essential: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
