And this is where you come in. We're looking for an experienced Motor Vehicle Assessor who is technically strong, detail‑oriented, and ready to help shape the future of claims management.
About the Role
As a Motor Vehicle Assessor, you'll collaborate closely with repairers, suppliers, industry bodies, and internal teams to drive consistent, high‑quality results.
Note: This is a full‑time, home‑based fully remote position. You'll enjoy flexibility while working as part of a collaborative and innovative team based on the East Coast of Australia, in either New South Wales, Queensland, or Victoria.
What you'll do
* Assess motor vehicle damage remotely using images, videos, and digital estimating platforms
* Prepare accurate repair estimates aligned with industry standards and insurer policies
* Determine repairability, total loss, or salvage value where required
* Liaise with policyholders, repairers, insurers, and claims handlers to support smooth claim progression
* Review repair invoices and variations, approving or challenging costs as appropriate
* Ensure all assessments comply with legislation, safety requirements, industry standards, and the MVIRI Code of Conduct
* Maintain accurate documentation within claims management systems
* Meet SLA, quality, and turnaround time targets
* Provide technical advice and support to claims teams and key stakeholders when needed
About you
* Trade qualified in Panel Beating or Automotive Refinishing
* Associate Degree (or equivalent experience) in Automotive Technology, Insurance, Business, or a related field
* Certificate IV in Assessing (or equivalent) with 5+ years of assessing experience
* Strong decision-making capability with analytical and practical problem‑solving skills
* Customer‑focused with excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure
* Technically confident, computer‑literate, and comfortable adopting new technologies
* Able to work accurately in a fast‑changing environment
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASE) are an advantage
* Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
