Remuneration: $114, $134,809.00 per annum

Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

Location: Western Sydney Local Health District (across all facilities)

What you'll be doing

As a Clinical Coding Auditor, you'll lead and support district-wide initiatives in clinical coding audit, quality assurance and education. This is a high-impact role combining expert clinical coding knowledge with coaching and analytical skills to help improve accuracy, documentation and performance.

* Conduct targeted clinical coding audits and reviews as part of the WSLHD Quality Plan
* Deliver education and training to enhance coding accuracy, DRG assignment and casemix understanding
* Mentor and guide trainee coders, and support professional development across the team
* Provide high-level advice on ICD-10-AM coding, DRGs, and Australian Coding Standards
* Undertake advanced clinical coding as required and contribute to benchmarking initiatives

How to Apply

Selection Criteria:

* Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent tertiary qualification with eligibility for membership of HIMAA, or HIMAA Clinical Coder Certification (CCC), and/ or relevant experience
* Significant clinical coding experience at tertiary level using ICD-10-AM with a sound understanding of the Australian Coding Standards which can be demonstrated by audit results, and an understanding of casemix, DRGs and Activity Based Funding models and their application within the health system
* An understanding of quality improvement activities in relation to clinically coded data, including clinical coding audits, ability to interpret audit results, error correction and presentation of data
* Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills with high level communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team. Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to achieve agreed outcomes under limited supervision
* Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and organisational skills with high level attention to detail and the ability to deliver mentoring and support to coding team members
* Proficient in the use of office computer applications including PAS, 3M Codefinder, MS Excel, MS Word & MS Powerpoint
* Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment.
