Awarded **Best Waterfront Wedding Venue** in 2022, The Pavilion is a modern function space of two rooms with a seated capacity of 270, or 400 standing. Events of all styles are held in this space year-round, including birthdays, corporate meetings, business breakfasts, comedy nights, Christmas lunch, school balls, and of course, weddings.
Also home to other venues such as The Boat, Indian Ocean Brewing Co, Lifeboat, Cabana, & The Marina Hotel - The Marina Mindarie is dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences that leave a lasting impression on each and every one of our guests.
We are currently seeking an experienced **Conference & Events Manager** to be part of our dynamic and passionate management team, to manage all day-to-day operations of The Pavilion, as well as provide support to Cabana Pool Bar during peak summer season.
This senior role is a crucial part of our large team, and as such, requires a suitably experienced person to manage this busy, vibrant space. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Functions Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of The Pavilion, ensuring all aspects of the business are managed,
- Ordering of beverage, consumables, linen, and other items other than food,
- Rostering teams at least 2-4 weeks in advance at all times.
- Liaising closely with the events sales team, including the wedding coordinator, to deliver seamless, memorable events to our guests, time and time again,
- Ensuring rooms are setup well in advance of events, and kept in a neat and tidy manner between events,
- Working closely with other Venue Managers to share resources and establish a congenial working environment.
- Providing support to the Cabana Pool Bar Manager where needed through the summer season.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a suitable amount of experience in a similar capacity.
- Have experience in banquets & weddings.
- Be flexible to work a dynamic roster surrounding bookings, with most weekends holding events.
- Be expected to be available throughout the peak season, including Christmas and New Years.
- Enjoy providing excellent service & interacting with guests.
- Be a strong leader, able to coach and mentor the team.
- Be an approved manager, or be able to attain the qualification and card within 30 days of commencing.
- Be able to work autonomously to a high standard.
- Be able to submit monthly business reports, with an understanding of P&L.
- Most of all, you must truly enjoy being hospitable, oozing charisma and being able to use your energy to inspire others and create truly memorable experiences.
**Experience with weddings will be highly regarded.**
Further to the broad skillset, it will be advantageous to be tertiary qualified in hospitality or a similar industry, but certainly not required. We look for those who can continue to provide new and innovative ways of operating to improve service, delivery and profitability.
**Salary**: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
