We are looking for a dynamic and engaging individual to join our PLAY Team. We require someone with initiative to work as part of a small, hardworking and passionate team to advocate for and promote child safety and injury prevention in the community.
The Kidsafe SA Playground Advisory Unit (PAU) provides a range of support services to help create and maintain play spaces that support children's development, learning, health and wellbeing while reducing the risk of serious injury. Kidsafe SA is a growing organisation that seeks to increase its injury prevention advocacy in the area of playground safety.
Responsibilities will include:
Inspecting playgrounds for compliance with Australian Standards
Using specialised equipment to undertake surface impact testing on playgrounds.
Providing playground safety and design information and advice directly to Kidsafe SA clients and key stakeholders
Providing ongoing administrative support to the PLAY team including developing quotes, invoices, scheduling, client follow-up.
Creation of written playground safety information and advice for different audiences including reports, email advice, information sheets, website content.
Working with and reporting to management staff to plan service delivery from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes
Developing and implementing strategies to promote and market Kidsafe SA's play related services
Working collaboratively with, and reporting to, key clients and stakeholders
Development, coordination and delivery of new and existing Kidsafe SA programs and campaigns as required.
Assisting with organisational and administrative support across all Kidsafe SA service streams when required
Promoting Kidsafe South Australia's mission, and raising awareness of child injury and its prevention
Experience in Landscaping, Landscape Construction, Landscape Architecture, Public Health, Health Promotion.
Excellent relationship building skills, including ability to maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders (internal and external)
High levels of professional written communication skills including writing reports, emails, safety information.
Strong communication and people skills – confident communicating with individuals and to large groups
Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
Ability to use own initiative and work independently while also working effectively as part of a small team
Proficiency in computer skills and IT programs – competent in Microsoft Office and other programs/software.

Regional and remote travel is required for this role.
Kidsafe SA provides a state-wide playground safety service and there is a considerable amount of regional travel associated with this role. This role can be physically demanding and requires you to regularly work outside, crawl through playground equipment, dig down through loose fill surfacing and operate equipment.
