**Head of Corporate Tax**
Due to a restructure and movements within the corporate team, my client, a large listed Financial Services organisation, is looking for a senior tax professional to join on a permanent basis.
Role purpose:
- Lead the Corporate Tax Team of 5 people to manage direct and indirect tax risk for all corporate entities of the Group and create a high-performance culture within the Team.
- Ensure the Group's corporate entities are compliant with all taxation obligations and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tax calculations for statutory reporting requirements and for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure tax risk is managed in respect of the Group's corporate entities in accordance with the Tax Governance Framework.
Key accountabilities of the role:
- Management of corporate direct and indirect tax risk,
- Accountability for the corporate tax control environment,
- Provide strong leadership to the team and ensure the right focus on the right activities and priorities,
- Lead the team with clear accountabilities and a strong focus on high performance,
- Drive process improvement and efficiency of tax processes,
- Build and develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders,
- Board and Audit Committee reporting,
- ATO stakeholder management.
Experience, qualifications, skills & attributes:
- 10+ years' experience in corporate tax with an accounting firm background and experience working within a large corporate,
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting/law
- Strong understanding of tax law
- CA/CPA qualification
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulations.
- Strong ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute activity across a team
- Strong ability to delegate and empower staff while providing adequate support
- Proven people management experience
