Location: Newman, Western Australia
Oasis @ Newman is a privately owned accommodation facility located 7kms south of Newman, Western Australia. Newman is the Gateway to the Real Outback and is a short distance to world famous attractions, including Karijini National Park, Carawine Gorge and historical Indigenous sites.
Oasis boasts 800+rooms, resort-style swimming pool, dining room, gym, al fresco and recreation room.
Job Description:
Cooks in hotel environments are responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking food for guests in dining and catering settings. They work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure high-quality meals are delivered consistently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook meals according to hotel menus and guest preferences
* Season and portion food, adding sauces and garnishes
* Ensure food quality and presentation meet hotel standards
* Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
* Store food in temperature-controlled facilities
* Prepare meals for guests with special dietary requirements
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
* Assist in planning menus and estimating food requirementsMonitor inventory and order supplies as needed
* Train and supervise junior kitchen staff or apprentices
The position will require to live on site at Oasis in Newman full time. Accommodations and meals can be provided.
This role will require weekend work with accommodation provided for a weekly deduction as per the Hospitality Industry General Award 2021.
