About the Role
The Food & Pharmaceutical Division operates a modern laboratory in Scoresby equipped with the latest analytical technology. We now welcome new Laboratory Technicians to join our Food & Pharmaceutical Microbiology team on a permanent basis. These hands‐on roles involve preparing, blending, and weighing samples, ensuring accurate results within holding times, completing paperwork, and maintaining efficient and safe lab operations to meet client turnaround goals.
This role is Monday to Friday 10:30 am to 6:45 pm.
The Day to Day
* Processing food & pharmaceutical samples for analysis
* Ensuring samples are analysed within holding times
* Weighing and checking samples
* Fast‐paced work with accuracy required
* Blend food samples
* Completion of paperwork
* Ensuring client turnaround times are met
* Ensuring the laboratory operates in an efficient and safe manner
* Housekeeping tasks
* Daily ad‐hoc tasks
The Essentials
* Minimum of a laboratory certificate or qualification in science
* Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required
* Involved in daily housekeeping of the laboratory
* A strong commitment to client service
* Ability to work well in a team‐oriented environment
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Dedication to good laboratory practices regarding quality of results and health and safety
* Previous experience in a high throughput, client‐focused environment, preferred
* Ability to lift up to 15 kg
* Suitable transport to Scoresby
Eligibility
To be eligible to work at ALS you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa.
