Business Unit Overview
Our Operations unit is the engine room of Superloop - responsible for maintaining and supporting all of our products and internal technical infrastructure to ensure the best possible service to both our customers and our own business. Our Operations unit is responsible for ensuring that the business has the technical capability and capacity to deliver services to all Superloop customers ranging from Home Broadband to International Wholesale.
Role Purpose
The Network Facilities Team Lead is responsible for the operational integrity, service readiness, and strategic direction of Superloop's datacentres and NBN Points of Interconnect (POIs). They lead a team of six, including the Network Facilities Coordinator and Network Technicians, as well as multiple external contractors. The Team Lead is accountable for cost control, physical access, and quality assurance across all network facilities and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Oversight: Provide direction and oversight for all Network Facilities operations across all network facilities.
2. Leadership: Lead a cross-functional team including the Network Facilities Coordinator and Network Technicians, ensuring clarity of roles, high performance, and compliance with safety and engineering standards.
3. People Management: Own and manage personnel matters for Network Facilities staff, including performance management, workload planning, and staff wellbeing.
4. Operational Accountability: Ensure efficient assignment, scheduling, and tracking of work, including internal staff and external contractors.
5. Contractor Engagement: Oversee contractor engagement, onboarding/offboarding, and work validation.
6. Network Work: Ensure proper execution of network equipment installation, removal, and modification.
7. Compliance: Ensure that all work aligns with defined engineering, WH&S, and compliance standards.
8. Network Facilities and Asset Management: Oversee onboarding, offboarding and access to facilities and portals; document and enforce network facilities design standards; maintain up-to-date documentation for site layouts, inventory, and power usage; manage network facilities inventory; initiate procurement of equipment and materials.
9. Financial and Contractual Oversight: Manage contracts, commercial relationships, and costs for network facilities; track and report budget performance; approve invoices and resolve billing or contractual disputes.
* Risk, Compliance, and Quality: Ensure operations comply with internal policies, engineering standards, and WH&S obligations; lead continuous improvement, audits, and corrective actions; act as escalation point for operational issues related to network facilities, including safety, access, and service-impacting events.
Qualifications And Experience
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise work to meet operational and strategic deadlines.
* Proven leadership experience in network facilities operations, or critical infrastructure environments.
* Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
* Ability to build, lead, and support a high-performing team, ensuring role clarity, performance development, and staff wellbeing.
* Demonstrated experience managing datacentre or POI environments, including equipment installation, access control, and facilities compliance.
* Strong attention to detail and accountability for documentation, procedural accuracy, and asset tracking.
* Proactive approach to continuous improvement, with a focus on operational efficiency, service readiness, and quality assurance.
* A safety-first mindset with a strong understanding of WH&S responsibilities in technical environments.
* Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically, able to shift between oversight and hands-on problem solving as required.
