The Opportunity
Join a dynamic and expanding regional health service as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Gladstone Hospital.

You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care while contributing to service development, teaching, and clinical governance.
As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will:
* Provide anaesthetic services across a broad case mix including:
* General surgery
* Orthopaedics
* Obstetrics & gynaecology
* Endoscopy and procedural lists
* Dental and investigative services
* Lead **pre-anaesthetic assessment clinics**
* Deliver care to high-acuity patients, including **HDU ward rounds**
* Provide advanced procedural care including:
* Airway management
* Ventilatory support
* Central venous access
* Acute and perioperative pain management
* Coordinate patient transfers with Retrieval Services Queensland
* Participate in the **on-call and after-hours roster**
* Contribute to **clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement**
* Mentor and supervise junior doctors and medical students
