Lead Horticultural Professional
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Horticultural Professional to oversee the daily operations of our primary nursery facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, leading a team of staff, and providing excellent customer service.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain a culture of safety first, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to Operational and Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment (WHSE) management systems.
* Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation, including customer service, negotiation with suppliers, and maintaining optimum product conditions.
* Manage staff, approve timesheets, participate in recruitment, and provide training and feedback to ensure a motivated and well-prepared team.
* Efficiently allocate tasks to staff based on their strengths and expertise, ensuring smooth daily operations.
* Provide valuable insights and suggestions for plant ordering, contributing to the diverse and appealing product range.
* Cultivate strong and positive relationships with suppliers to enhance product quality and availability.
Requirements:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or appropriate industry training courses.
* A minimum of two years' experience in horticulture and supervisory roles.
* Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
* Strong work ethic, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment and promote a culture of teamwork.
