The Role We are seeking a commercially minded National Account Manager – Petrol & Convenience (P&C) to join our Out of Home (OOH) Sales team, based in our Mentone head office. This role will suit someone looking to further build their account management capability within a growing and strategically important FMCG channel. Reporting into the Petrol & Convenience leadership team, you will manage a portfolio of national and independent P&C customers operating within a highly relationship-driven, collaborative and informal environment. The role provides exposure to increasing commercial complexity and scale, while offering strong development and progression opportunities within the broader sales function. This position will involve occasional regional travel to support customer relationships, in-store execution and business initiatives across the P&C network. Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to; Manage and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) across national and independent P&C customers to deliver sustainable growth. Deliver agreed sales, volume and profitability targets across your account portfolio. Build strong, trust-based customer relationships within a largely independent and relationship-led channel. Identify growth opportunities through distribution, ranging, pricing and promotional initiatives. Support negotiation of trading terms, promotional activity and commercial outcomes aligned to company objectives. Manage trade spend and promotional investment to support profitable growth. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Category, Supply Chain and Finance to execute customer plans. Support in-store execution and activation initiatives across the P&C network. Assist with NPD launches, customer innovation and private label opportunities as required. The Person To be successful in this role, you will bring proven FMCG sales experience within the Petrol & Convenience channel, supported by exposure to National or Key Account Management or experience managing complex customer relationships. Experience within MSO, Retail or Metcash environments will be highly regarded. You will have a solid understanding of core commercial fundamentals including sales targets, margins, trade spend and profitability, and be confident navigating JBPs and leading customer discussions. Strong relationship-building capability is essential, with the ability to operate effectively in unstructured, informal and highly relationship-led customer environments. You will demonstrate a collaborative mindset, a desire to continuously build capability and performance, and strong communication, influencing and organisational skills, while aligning with Patties’ values of Trust, Ownership, Courage and Integrity.
