About the Role
A brand new and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal AI Adviser to join our national Knowledge team. Reporting to the Head of Knowledge, this role will be responsible for the controlled adoption, effective use, and measured advancement of the firm's approved generative AI (GenAI) and legal technology tools within insurance legal teams.
You will ensure AI tools are used consistently, appropriately, and in accordance with insurer client requirements, panel guidelines, regulatory obligations, and the firm's professional and ethical standards. You will also play a key part in encouraging the practical and responsible use of technology to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery in high-volume insurance work, while maintaining defensible, auditable, and client-aligned outcomes. In addition, you will contribute to the identification and evaluation of emerging AI technologies relevant to insurance legal practice.
Duties of this role will include:
* driving adoption and effective use of approved AI tools across insurance legal teams and workflows;
* guiding the responsible and compliant use of AI in insurance legal practice;
* supporting AI-enabled legal delivery, including drafting, document review, discovery and evidence management;
* embedding AI into knowledge management and legal research processes;
* ensuring AI use aligns with insurer, regulatory, and panel requirements;
* delivering training and support to drive consistent AI adoption;
* supporting AI governance, continuous improvement and measured innovation; and
* identifying and evaluating emerging AI technologies for potential use within the firm.
Please note that we are open to permanent or 12-month contract arrangements.
About You:
If the following sounds like you, we would love to hear from you:
* you have previous experience in an AI Adviser/Analyst, legal technology, or similar role within a law firm or professional services environment;
* you possess a strong understanding of insurance legal workflows, including claims‐related advice, pleadings, discovery, and repeatable legal processes;
* you have experience with AI tools used for drafting, review, research, and knowledge management in professional services environments;
* you demonstrate sound professional judgment in managing client, regulatory, and confidentiality risk;
* you have a practical communication style suited to conservative, risk-aware audiences and are able to influence stakeholders at all levels;
* you are client-focused and service-oriented, with a commercial and pragmatic mindset;
* you are a strong problem-solver with excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail;
* you hold tertiary qualifications in law, technology, data, or a related discipline; and
* you are able to work independently while collaborating effectively across the firm.
