The Company
Our client is a competitive OEM producing innovative motor and hydraulic solutions for their clients across the medical, food, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. Due to growth and internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Leading Hand - Fitter to join their production team.
The Role
As Leading Hand you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical fitters. You will be required to supervise and provide directions to the production team, as well schedule work as directed from the Operations Manager. You will also perform general fitting and assembly work as required. In addition, you will:
- Repair and build motor and hydraulic equipment including gearboxes and torque limiters.
- Lead a team of fitters to ensure the safe and on time delivery of projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement ideas and develop a positive and collaborative workshop culture.
- Schedule work with the operations and projects teams.
- Mentor and support team members including apprentices.
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Relevant trade qualification.
- Three years' experience as a mechanical fitter.
- Demonstrated experience with gearboxes.
- Ability to lead a production team on the on-time delivery of quality products and projects.
- Basic computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
