About the role
This position reports into the Manager of Automation Engineering and sits within a delivery-focused engineering team. You will work closely with internal engineering teams, external contractors and network stakeholders to deliver automation system designs from concept through to commissioning. The focus of the role is on safe, compliant and high-quality engineering outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
Duties
• Design and specify substation automation and SCADA systems
• Review and validate automation designs and commissioning activities
• Integrate IEDs into automation systems and remote access environments
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with internal and external stakeholders
Skills and experience
• Knowledge of SCADA and substation automation systems and architecture
• Understanding of IEC 61850 and DNP3 communication standards
• Ability to configure automation and control device settings
• Electrical engineering qualification or closely related discipline
• Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia
