About The Role
The Global Connections Officer (GCO) is the driving force behind life-changing travel, operating as a multi-talented sales catalyst, relationship developer, service zealot, and organizational wizard. Your main focus is the traveler's experience: you connect with prospects, expertly recommend trips, and blend high sales performance with personalized customer service to ensure every journey is seamless and aligned with our values. Success in this role requires managing accurate operations, collaborating across teams, and actively promoting our positive, globally connected community.
This role is a hybrid role based out of Brisbane, where a set number of days are required in office.
What you'll be doing:
Sales and Conversion
* Consistently achieve all monthly sales targets while upholding exceptional service delivery standards.
* Act as a sales catalyst by identifying unique traveler needs and expertly recommending and selling suitable, differentiated trips and ancillary services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Proactively manage and follow up on all opportunities, pending bookings, and utilize traveler data (including Salesforce/Compass tracking) to maximize conversion and support sales visibility.
* Regularly track and chase options, and review reports on expired options, overdue responses, and bookings without air.
* Take full, efficient ownership of the entire traveler journey, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Maintain timely communication and consistently exceed commitments with travelers and agent partners.
* Follow correct booking processes to minimize errors and business risk. Execute all tasks with effectiveness, speed, and efficiency while maintaining personalized compassion and care.
Customer Engagement & Communication
* Achieve the company mission by creating an unimagined traveler experience; confidently share and communicate our culture and values in every connection.
* Master interactions across all channels (phone, email, chat), quickly establishing rapport, trust, and managing communications with both travelers and agent partners.
* Ask meaningful, insightful questions to genuinely uncover motivations and expectations, ensuring solutions are perfectly aligned with traveler needs.
* Respond to booking issues and concerns with speed, efficiency, and expert problem-solving skills. Remain calm and composed in challenging situations to find an equitable resolve for all parties.
* Contribute to a positive, seamless traveler experience through all stages of the journey, escalating service issues appropriately while maintaining high standards of care.
* Proactively stay informed on all travel products, policies, and industry changes to provide accurate, current, and reliable guidance.
Operational Excellence
* Stay informed of travel products, policies, and changes to ensure accurate and current guidance.
* Ensure accurate and complete booking details in line with company and departmental standards.
* Track personal sales against goals and use metrics to improve performance.
* Log and maintain all traveller interactions and booking data in systems like Salesforce.
* Engage with internal departments to stay aligned on process changes and traveller needs.
* Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance service delivery, tools, or technology impacting the customer experience or booking process.
* Comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends, to meet business needs
* Demonstrate flexibility in availability, including working varied schedules and time zones as needed or agreed when opting to work from anywhere.
Skills & Experience
* No formal education required.
* Minimum 1 year front-line sales experience, proven by exceeding sales targets and service KPIs.
* Strong geographic/destination knowledge, enhanced by personal travel experience.
* Demonstrated success influencing decisions and driving sales conversions in a customer-facing role (ideally travel sales).
* Minimum 1 year experience required with: GDS/Reservation systems, Salesforce/CRM, data entry, and Mac computer systems.
* Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills; proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; collaborative mindset for internal and external teams.
* Proven success resolving customer inquiries/complaints with empathy, efficiency, and composure under pressure.
* Comfortable engaging with a global customer base, recommending personalized solutions, and displaying cultural sensitivity.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented.
