Role Description/Criteria

The Role:
We are currently seeking a Vocal Tutor, to teach one to one private lessons to students of all abilities.
We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.
The position also includes Ensemble Direction of the College Harmony Vocal Ensemble, which is an invitational chamber vocal group for senior singers.
The Harmony Vocal Ensemble rehearsal is currently scheduled on Thursdays 7.30am - 8.30am, and lessons are currently delivered on Thursdays, however if necessary there is significant flexibility to adjust this schedule for the most suitable applicant.
This role works collectively and collaboratively with other members of the Music Department including especially Director of Music and Ensembles Coordinator.
While lessons will take place during school hours, the role includes occasional after hours work at concerts and recitals.
Formal Education qualifications (including VIT Registration) are an advantage but not required.
Competitive Hourly Rates + Super, casual contract with an option to convert to permanent part time after 12 months' service.
Skills/Experience required:
Formal qualifications in Music Performance - essential
Prior experience teaching boys in a variety of styles from beginner to VCE level - especially popular styles and music theatre - essential
Prior experience in leading choirs/vocal ensembles (inc.
evidence of formal training) essential
Strong piano accompaniment skills to accompany Voice students/Vocal Ensemble in lessons, recitals and concerts - essential
Ability to arrange music and create backing tracks - a key advantage
Special Requirements:
