**About the role**
The Disability Teacher Consultant is responsible for establishing and coordinating specialist teaching and non-teaching support services for students with a disability together with performing teaching duties to achieve optimal student outcomes.
The role actively promotes access of students with disabilities to TAFE NSW courses maximizing enrolments, participation, and completions in vocational education and training leading to successful achievement of student goals and employment for people with disabilities.
We have a permanent full-time position available within NSW's North Region. Travel to various campus locations within this region will be required as a part of this role.
This recruitment will also be used to create a talent pool for future Disability Teacher Consultant opportunities across the North Region that may arise within the next 18 months.
**About You**
As one of our Disability Teaching Consultants, you will be responsible for establishing reasonable adjustment education plans and coordinating specialist teaching and non-teaching support services for students with disability. You must possess strong negotiation and collaboration skills and have excellent communication skills to collaborate with other team members. This role will suit a teacher within a disability sector who enjoys working in a busy educational environment and supports advocacy for students.
An eligible applicant will also have the following:
- Degree or Diploma level qualification in an area relevant to the inclusive education and support of people with a disability 
- A TAE40122 or TAE40116 Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent 
- Meet the essential requirements for at least one of the disability specialty areas listed on the position description.

For ongoing positions in the NSW Public Sector, you need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
