As a Senior Economist in the Economic Policy team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert economic policy advice to Government. In This Role, You Will
* Support the Executive Director in leading and managing the team's responsibilities and functions.
* Collaborate with Queensland public sector agencies to influence policy agendas and ensure the delivery of economically responsible public policy.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to address complex issues effectively.
* Provide strategic direction for research, analysis, economic modelling, and policy advice.
* Represent Queensland Treasury on intergovernmental committees and interdepartmental working groups.
* Coordinate whole-of-government processes and advocate for Treasury's interests across teams.
* Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
What Experience You Will Bring
* Robust economic policy analysis skills, using sound economic frameworks and modelling to support informed decision‑making.
* Comprehensive economic and analytical knowledge, with an exceptional eye for accuracy and detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in delivering briefings and submissions on complex economic matters.
* Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of Treasury and government.
* Expertise in providing analysis and advice on complex economic policies and frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to manage client requirements and team priorities with sound judgement and authority.
* Experience in preparing and guiding the delivery of complex reports, briefings, and correspondence within tight timeframes.
* Capability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff to build a high‑performing team.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant economics qualifications will be highly regarded.
