The Team: The Specialist Palliative Care Service (SPCS) - Community Team includes the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Palliative Care team. The community and hospital teams both have a consultancy service delivery model. The successful applicant for this position will commence in the community service and there will be opportunities to rotate to the RHH consult team by negotiation. Clinicians in the interdisciplinary Specialist Palliative Care team work in accordance with clinical standards and best practice principles to improve the quality of life and healthcare experiences of people with life-limiting illnesses referred to the service. We focus on providing optimal symptom management and end of life care planning, and we aim to support and empower people to die in the place of their choice. The Role: The Clinical Nurse Specialist works as part of an interdisciplinary team delivering high quality specialist palliative care, by providing expert knowledge, assessment and management of clients referred to the SPCS utilising an advanced clinical framework; assisting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff with the planning and management of staff and resources, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of evidence-based palliative care nursing practice within a collaborative interdisciplinary framework. You will need: Highly developed contemporary knowledge and skills in specialist palliative care nursing practices with recent clinical experience, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated advanced interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and their caregivers, work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and act as a preceptor to members of the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the development and evaluation of services provided utilising a quality improvement framework, review of clinical practice policy, procedure and protocols. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year other benefits if eligible.
