An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Finance Officer to join finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the hospital.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist with maintaining the integrity of financial information and support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting.
The Opportunity
In this broad and hands-on role, you will be responsible for:
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly and year-end financial accounts, including general ledger reconciliations and supporting schedules.
* Processing journals including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
* Assisting with the preparation of financial reports for Hospital Management and Corporate Head Office.
* Supporting the maintenance and integrity of the General Ledger through regular review and reconciliation activities.
* Assisting with the administration of the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) process including maintaining asset registers and supporting capital reporting.
* Supporting invoice and purchase order processes and assisting with finance queries from operational departments.
* Extracting and analysing financial data using systems such as SAP and Microsoft Excel.
* Providing support across accounts payable and receivable processes where required
* Assisting with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
About You
You are organised, reliable and enjoy working with financial data in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Previous experience in an accounts/finance role
* Understanding of accounting processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
Highly Regarded
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance or currently studying towards CA/CPA.
* Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
* Experience working in the healthcare sector or a large organisation.
* Exposure to fixed assets, or capital expenditure processes.
