About the Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design and documentation of plumbing and hydraulic systems, including hot and cold water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, and gas services. You will also play a role in estimating for tenders and projects, working closely with our construction team to provide accurate take-offs and assist in bid preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document hydraulic and plumbing systems in accordance with Australian Standards, Building Codes, and local regulations.
- Use AutoCAD/Revit/BIM 360 to produce high-quality 2D and 3D documentation and models.
- Prepare shop drawings and as constructed drawings
- Prepare penetration and setout mark up drawings
- Prepare survey setouts to upload to Trimble total station
- Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, builders, and subcontractors
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender documentation for hydraulic components.
- Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Attend occasional site visits for data collection, coordination, and verification.
- Support the project delivery team during construction with design clarifications and updates.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hydraulic/plumbing design within the construction or building services sector.
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit/BIM 360.
- Understanding of AS/NZS plumbing and hydraulic design standards.
- Experience preparing detailed documentation for water, sanitary, stormwater, and gas systems.
- Experience in estimating or willingness to be trained in estimating methods and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a hybrid working model.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a design & construct (D&C;) environment.
- Experienced in clash detection modelling
- On-site or field experience in plumbing installations.
