About the Opportunity
PARC Engineering is seeking an accomplished Estimating Manager to join our high-performing team based in our Applecross Head Office. In this full‐time, Monday–Friday role, you will lead the estimating team, overseeing the preparation of competitive bids across Electrical, SMP and Civil tenders within the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a well‐established business, taking ownership of estimating practices and contributing to the delivery of accurate, commercially sound and competitive submissions across a diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the estimating function, driving consistency, accuracy, governance and continuous improvement across all tender activity
* Oversee the preparation and submission of detailed, compliant estimates within required timeframes
* Review drawings, specifications, standards and client documentation to develop practical and commercially sound solutions
* Develop and implement pricing strategies that balance market conditions, operational capability and project risk in line with business objectives
* Lead risk and opportunity analysis, identifying key commercial, technical and contractual considerations
* Coordinate subcontractor and supplier quotations, evaluate submissions and benchmark against self-perform estimates
* Collaborate with executive, operations and commercial teams to validate assumptions and delivery methodologies
* Use historical project data and performance trends to strengthen forecasting and estimate accuracy
* Conduct post‐tender reviews and capture lessons learned for future submissions
* Ensure estimates are well documented, auditable and maintained within internal systems
* Monitor and report on tender costs, forecasts and key estimating metrics
Role Requirements
* Proven experience leading or managing estimating functions within engineering, construction, SMP, E&I, infrastructure or related sectors
* Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Trade or similar
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly in Excel and MS Project
* Detailed knowledge and experience of applying industry norms or First Principal estimating
* Demonstrated ability to prepare tender submissions, cost estimates and tender strategies
* Comprehension and interpretation of complex contractual documents, specifications and drawings
* Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with clients & stakeholders
* Ability to lead and manage multiple concurrent tenders while balancing team workload in a high-pressure environment
* Objectivity, sound judgement and decision-making skills
* Strong commercial acumen & high level of attention to detail
