Description
* Lead the IR/ER function in providing expert/specialist advice and support on IR/ER matters to enable best practice and compliance, particularly in areas of industrial relations and employment law
* Set and drive the workplace relations strategy in partnership with the business
* Review and appraise the results of the workplace relations activities and ensure compliance
* Counsel senior executives and management on upcoming and current workplace relations matters
* Maintain appropriate communication between various teams and functions including supporting sales and attending client meetings
* Manage and advise on:
o Disciplinary matters
o Performance management
o Workplace complaints/grievances
o Attendance and Absenteeism
o Rates, conditions and award interpretation
o Bullying and harassment
o Investigations
o Claims with the Fair Work Commission and Employment Relations Authority
* Represent the Group at the Fair Work Commission, Australian Human Rights Commission, NZ Employment Relations Authority and any other relevant body or industry association
* Assist with the development of templates, policies and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
* Management and reporting of group labour hire licencing and portable long service leave requirements
* Training the business on ER/IR topics and identify opportunities with process improvements
* Ensure appropriate escalation of issues and matters requiring approval
Profile
* Relevant service industry experience including suitable experience in advising on industrial and employment relations issues
* Tertiary Qualification in Bachelor of Business, Human Resources, Legal or related field, or recent relevant industry experience
* Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment and solution orientated
* Sound written and oral skills with the ability to present and profile information to clients and internal stakeholders
* Demonstrated experience in a mix of blue collar and white collar industries and interactions with unions and the RCSA
* Expert knowledge and experience of contemporary HR practice, employment law and industrial instruments in Australia and New Zealand
