Role
Canterbury Girls Secondary College is seeking an outstanding and highly organised professional to lead the planning, promotion and delivery of the College's 100Year Anniversary celebrations in 2028. This unique opportunity will shape and deliver a milestone that honours a century of outstanding education for girls while capturing and celebrating the stories, achievements and legacy of our community.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal, College leadership, alumni, the Mangarra Society, staff, students and the wider community to design and coordinate a comprehensive centenary program culminating in a Gala Celebration Event and the publication of a commemorative Coffee Table Book documenting the College's rich 100‐year history.
This position suits an experienced marketing, communications or events professional with exceptional relationship‐building skills, strong project management capabilities and a passion for storytelling, community engagement and historical preservation.
Employment Details
Fixed‐term project position commencing in 2026 and concluding following the Centenary celebrations in 2028. Full‐time or negotiated part‐time arrangements may be considered. Salary and conditions will be negotiated in accordance with experience and expertise.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive publicity, communications and marketing strategy for the College's Centenary celebrations
* Coordinate and oversee all major Centenary events and activities throughout 2028
* Plan, organise and facilitate a prestigious Gala Celebration Event for alumni, staff, students and invited guests
* Work collaboratively with the College community, alumni and the Mangarra Society to collect, curate and preserve historical photographs, memorabilia and stories spanning the College's 100‐year history
* Lead the development, writing, design and publication of a high‐quality commemorative Coffee Table Book
* Coordinate media, promotional materials, sponsorship opportunities and community engagement initiatives
* Liaise with photographers, designers, printers, venues and external providers
* Establish timelines, budgets and project plans to ensure successful delivery of all Centenary initiatives
* Create opportunities to strengthen community pride, alumni engagement and the public profile of the College
