About The Role
In this role, you will be reporting to our fantastic Outlet Supervisor. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking pub-style meals, ordering stock, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and adhering to high standards of food safety and hygiene.
While Redroom is a fast-paced environment with busy lunch rushes, there are also typical ebbs and flows in foot traffic. Being able to identify what needs to be done during the quieter periods is essential. While you will work alongside team members, this role also involves a high level of independent work and accountability.
This role requires Monday to Friday availability. Although this is a part-time position (30 hours per week), the hours during the semester will go up to 38 hours per week.
As the Cook, you'll:
* Be responsible for the preparation and cooking of food
* Greet customers when they collect their food, providing friendly and professional service
* Assisting with recipe development and costing, and ensuring consistent adherence to recipes
* Assisting in ensuring an up-to-date and compliant food safety management system is operational and adhered to
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
* Assist in stocktakes
* Assist in the development and documentation of all standard operating procedures in conjunction with the Supervisor, Area Manager, and/or General Manager
* Actively participate in regular team meetings and initiatives
* Identify opportunities for improvement in business processes, operating expenses, cost containment activities, and waste reduction
* Lead by example in promoting the values of the Organisation and the objectives of the business and strategic plan.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers, external customers, distributors, and community stakeholders
* Support & action other work-related tasks as directed by management
* Utilise the Intranet, memos, manuals, and/or communication boards, particularly for information relating to regulatory compliance and workplace safety
* Perform ad-hoc duties and provide hands-on assistance as required
Required Skills & Experience
* Appropriate experience and/or qualifications relevant to the given role.
* Proven history of activities that achieve individual, team and business objectives while delivering excellent customer service
* Demonstrated organisational skills.
* Well developed, practical, communication skills.
* Ability to effectively handle customer feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
