Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and organized professional to join our team as a Parks Program Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing Hobart's parks and open spaces through strategic planning, contractor coordination, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage external contractors to ensure compliance with City of Hobart standards and specifications
* Create the Park Care program, liaising with community groups and organizing weekend activities and rosters
* Maintain inspection programs for green assets and contribute to long-term park improvement and planting plans
* Respond professionally to public and elected member enquiries, ensuring all communications are documented appropriately
* Assist with budgeting, policy reviews, and service level documentation to support high-quality park management

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

* A certificate IV in Horticulture (or similar), a current Drivers Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
* Demonstrated experience in managing parks operations, including contractor oversight and project delivery
* Strong horticultural knowledge with the ability to prepare technical specifications and manage procurement processes
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and communicate effectively
* Proficiency in maintaining asset databases and planning for both short and long-term park improvements
