As a Senior Security Technical Program Manager (Sr. Security TPM) you will influence and own long‑term security outcomes for AWS. You will work with external customers, regulated industries, and internal teams to design secure systems, review technical solutions, and drive process improvements that enhance AWS’ security posture. This includes specifying tools, implementing security frameworks, and collaborating with service owners to solve complex technical challenges.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate security‑related engagements with both internal and external customers, ensuring effective communication and alignment of security objectives.
- Identify security packages of work and plan for their delivery within agreed timeframes, anticipating and addressing potential challenges.
- Implement ISM, PSPF, DSPF, ASIO T4, NIST, and other security compliance frameworks into design and build baselines.
- Proactively remove roadblocks, foster innovation, and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
- Create, optimise, and support cross‑functional working groups and projects to enhance security capabilities.
- Develop thought‑leadership material on cloud and emerging technologies, contributing to industry discourse and internal knowledge sharing.
- Manage tight deadlines with precision, driving results and ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see ).

Basic Qualifications
- Significant experience delivering cyber‑security programs, designing and operating Security Operations Centres (SOC), auditing, security architecture, or regulatory affairs in the public sector.
- Deep understanding of at least three of the following: information security, cryptography, communication security, service‑orientated architectures, cloud‑based systems, security risk assessments, or threat modelling.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, IT Security Management, Security Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience implementing security industry frameworks such as PSPF, ISM, DSPF, or ASD Essential Eight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce detailed and complex narratives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operationalising security to meet business outcomes.
- Operational experience with cloud‑based security programs.
- Proven ability to influence and lead business partners and support teams.
- Ability to coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
