About The Organisation
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 flexible learning schools and two special education services schools. The schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations and offer trauma‐informed, flexible teaching and learning practice.
About The Role
The Teacher reports to the Head of Campus and works collaboratively with all staff, developing and maintaining learning and social inclusion responses for the campus. Responsibilities include:
* Planning, preparing and delivering engaging learning and teaching programmes for students in the middle and secondary phases, creating flexible, innovative curriculum including project‐based learning.
* Building learning programmes that reflect classroom diversity and cater to individual needs.
* Ensuring students receive maximised outcomes through Individual Education Plans.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of the Flexible School's objectives and planning.
* Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment.
About You
* Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system in the Edmund Rice tradition.
* Minimum 3 years' experience working with young people disenfranchised from mainstream education.
* Skills and knowledge in teaching processes, frameworks and practice.
* Current WA Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain it before commencement).
* Possession of a current 'C' driver's licence and ability to drive a bus.
* Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
* Experience developing innovative curriculum and Individual Learning or Personal Plans for Learning.
* Appropriate teacher qualifications and valid teacher registration.
