Job Description
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in both primary and secondary design for high voltage (33-66kV) systems. This role is ideal for a technically proficient engineer who enjoys hands-on design, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the delivery of complex power engineering projects. This role reports to the Engineering Lead - Engineer and supports the delivery of major industrial and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver detailed primary and secondary electrical designs for HV substations and industrial power systems
* Develop and review protection schemes (excluding PLC programming)
* Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success
* Provide peer reviews and support junior engineers
* Participate in occasional site visits (every couple of months)
* Drive innovation in electrical design practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Support project bidding and proposal development by providing technical input and estimates
* Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards and industry regulations
* Coordinate with external stakeholders, including utilities and regulatory bodies, to facilitate project approvals
* Contribute to strategic planning for the electrical engineering team's growth and capability development

Candidate Profile
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering
* 5+ years of experience in HV electrical design (33-66kV)
* Proficient in protection/ secondary and primary design
