Overview
Teacher - English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) with the added responsibility of being the Teacher in Charge of the Intensive Language Centre (ILC) at Morley Senior High School. This permanent full-time position commences Term 1, 2026. The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as an EAL/D teacher and to lead the ILC. The role includes overseeing the ILC for students in Years 7 to 10, coordinating excursions and cultural events, developing targeted language programs, and preparing students for successful integration into mainstream classes. The successful applicant should demonstrate a dynamic teaching style tailored to EAL/D learners and experience or capacity to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and/or General English as an Additional Language or Dialect. Strong relationships with students, families and colleagues, inclusive and differentiated teaching strategies, and a deep understanding of second language acquisition and the WA Curriculum are expected. Familiarity with the EAL/D Progress Map and diagnostic tools to support targeted instruction and progress monitoring is desirable. Commitment to whole-school approaches for EAL/D students and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are valued.
As Teacher in Charge of the ILC, the successful applicant would:
* Coordinate and deliver high-quality language programs for newly arrived students.
* Organise excursions and events that support cultural integration and language development.
* Prepare students for transition into mainstream classes through targeted academic and social support.
* Lead a team approach to supporting EAL/D students across the school.
* Maintain strong communication with families and external support agencies.

Eligibility

* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.

* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
