The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Financial Controller and/or Group Accountant to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Groups finance and accounting function, providing strategic financial management, and ensuring best practice compliance and governance and efficiency across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the finance and accounting department to deliver accurate and timely financial compliance, governance and reporting, analysis, and insights.
* Develop and oversee Group and Project financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to support the Group's long-term goals.
* Ensure robust Group and Project cash flow management, capital allocation, and working capital optimisation.
* Taking a role in Project Feasibility and Cashflows, modelling the cost and structure of debt and equity and reporting monthly to budget on a cost to complete Project by Project.
* Managing monthly Project drawdowns from Project funders and reporting monthly to Project funders.
* Report to the Board to provide financial advice for strategic decision-making, investments, and acquisitions.
* Implement strong internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial, accounting and reporting systems, processes, and tools.
* Manage relationships and reporting with auditors, taxation agents, financial institutions, and key stakeholders.
* Support business growth initiatives by evaluating contracts, tenders, and projects for financial feasibility and risk.
* Mentor and develop finance staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
About You
* CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in a finance and accounting role.
* Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercially astute with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong property experience and an understanding or property project feasibilities and cashflows and modelling costs and structures for project debt and equity.
