This ongoing position is an excellent opportunity for an engagement and communications proffessional to drive and coordinate sustainable fisheries management extension and engagement projects across the Northern Territory of Australia.
The position is located in Darwin with NT Fisheries, which has primary responsibility for leading the development and delivery engagement and public education activities across the division. Key duties of the role include:
* Develop, implement and evaluate engagement and extension activities that support NT Fisheries' strategic objectives and align with the Fisheries Business Plan.
* Work across the division, with key project officers, to coordinate outreach strategies and ensure consistent messaging and stakeholder engagement.
* Supervise staff and oversee development of written, visual and digital materials to ensure high-quality, targeted public extension opportunities.
* Promote success stories and share key information through newsletters, bulletins, social media and other communications channels.
* Build and maintain effective professional relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, community groups and local communities.
* Prepare written reports evaluating the effectiveness of outreach and engagement efforts, providing insights, recommendations and evidence-based findings.
* Coordinate and participate in events, consultations, and outreach activities that promote collaboration with the recreational, commercial and fishing tourism sectors.
