Headquartered in Western Australia, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation and is seeking a General Manager, People and Safety to lead the people strategy and support this next stage of its journey.
Job Description
The General Manager People and Safety is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, partnering closely with the CEO to shape and deliver the organisation's next phase of growth.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, with responsibility for developing and embedding a contemporary people strategy that supports organisational performance. You will play a central role in strengthening leadership capability, aligning structure and accountability, and building a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
Key areas of focus include:
* Drive the strategic direction of the People and Safety function, aligning with organisational objectives.
* Partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to influence and implement HR strategies.
* Lead organisational transformation initiatives to enhance workplace culture and performance.
* Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation.
* Develop and implement policies and programs to drive employee engagement and retention.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the People and Safety team, ensuring their professional growth.
* Monitor and report on key HR and Safety metrics to support decision-making processes.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be a commercially astute senior HR leader with experience in a complex or operational environment. You will bring a track record of partnering with CEOs and Executive teams to drive organisational transformation, and are equally comfortable working at both a strategic and operational level.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
* Strong capability in culture change, leadership development and organisational design
* The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders constructively
* A pragmatic, hands-on approach suited to a mid-sized, growing business
* Experience in safety, compliance and industrial or operational environments
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility at all levels
* This is a national role requiring periodic travel to East Coast operations.
