We're on the lookout for a self‐motivated Quarry Operator to join our team at the Canberra Quarry, located in Williamsdale! Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this is a permanent full‐time position from Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and Saturday work as required. We're looking for someone who has a passion for safety and values a strong work ethic, and is willing and able to work a varied operator role including crushing plant operations, general maintenance duties and weighbridge attendant.
What's the Job Like?
* Location: You'll be based at the Canberra Quarry, about 30 minutes drive south of Canberra, in Williamsdale.
* Hours: This is a full‐time position; most days start around 6 am.
* Pay: Fixed hourly rate of $42.17 with a weekly pay cycle.
* Heavy Machinery: Operating mobile equipment such as Dump Trucks (rigid), Front End Loaders, Excavators, and Crushing/Screening Plant Machinery.
* Safety First: Participating in general fixed plant maintenance and inspections, keeping operations running safely.
* Teamwork: In peak times, everyone contributes to quarry tasks needed; teamwork is essential.
This role is a great fit for you if you:
* Have experience operating a Loader, Dump Truck, Excavator, or Crushing and Screening; if eager to learn, training will be provided.
* Have a passion for safety and operating heavy machinery.
* Are fully committed to Zero Harm and Safety Leadership – safety comes first.
* Can strictly follow pre‐start and maintenance procedures for both fixed and mobile plant.
* Are comfortable working within a small team and independently.
* Bring a professional work ethic with a "can do" attitude to everything you do.
* Can complete a pre‐employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg sites).
* Safety: If required, you may need to meet specified weight limits on truck seats and seatbelts.
