About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our mechanical workshop operations. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing a team of skilled mechanics and apprentices, ensuring efficient servicing, repairs, and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles and equipment.
You’ll be responsible for managing daily operations, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the workshop. If you’re passionate about team development, mechanical excellence, and operational efficiency, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage workshop operations, including scheduling and workflow
- Supervise and mentor mechanics, apprentices, and support staff
- Oversee preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Ensure compliance with WHS standards and workshop documentation
- Manage inventory, spare parts, and supplier relationships
- Provide technical support and guidance on complex repairs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Collaborate with other departments to support fleet and equipment needs
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in workshop supervision or management
- Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities
- Experience with inventory and parts management systems
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (HR/MR preferred)
- Forklift or high-risk work licences (desirable)
- Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
