Assistant Director Finance & Business Support
Role Overview: Assistant Director Finance & Business Support at InterContinental Sydney will assist in the direction of hotel financial operations, ensuring the security of hotel assets and the accuracy of accounting procedures. Reporting to the Portfolio Director of Finance & Business Support, this role is a key point of contact for all hotel financial and accounting‐related issues with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely and accurate reporting of hotel financial information in accordance with the IHG accounting manual for full‐service hotels.
* Uphold IHG standards for internal controls, champion continuous improvement in financial performance while maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
* Assist the hotel in maintaining proper internal controls, including periodic internal and external audits and support for the Control Self‐Assessment (CSA) program.
* Ensure compliance with IHG due diligence and accounting policies. Oversee payroll system compliance and legislative standards for timely and accurate staff payments.
* Work closely with hotel operations leaders to drive business efficiency, maintain robust internal controls, audit readiness, manage contracts and uphold company policies and government regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
2+ years' experience in Finance, including demonstrated leadership capacity.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook, Opera, PeopleSoft, and a general understanding of an accounting system.
