**The YMCA Administration Office**, located on 107 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, supports our centres across Brisbane and Queensland through a number of services, including Finance, Accounts, Work, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Marketing.
As the YMCA is a vibrant and growing community organisation, we are seeking to expand our **Finance Team to support our growth.**
A position is now available for an **Accounts Officer** on a **Full-Time basis.**
You will become part of a small and friendly team of Accounts Officers, supporting the YMCA of Brisbane and its not-for-profit arm with accounts payable processes, statement reconciliation, vendor maintenance and data entry processes.
**About The Role**
In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Accounts Payable Manager in the administration of the organisation's financial accounts. Good management decisions rely heavily on accurate and timely presentation of financial information. As such the overall financial health of the organisation is supported from this area through the delivery of effective accounts department services. The role is to be performed with high standards of service to external and internal stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, your responsibilities will include and are not limited to:
- Maintenance of Creditor/Debtor records to standards required by Accounts Supervisor, In particular EFT information collected for all Creditors (or BPay)
- Preparation of Creditors invoices for payment, computerised and manual
- Checking of invoices including accurate general ledger coding and authorisation
- Preparing, entering and payment of Creditor invoices
- Conduct vendor analysis, on request
- Accurate upload of EFT & BPay files to banking software
- Head Office Petty Cash reimbursement
- Statement reconciliations
- Creating End of Month Journals
**Selection Criteria**:
- Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant qualification and/or previous experience in an intermediate level accounting role
- Navision 17 experience or similar accounting program
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy in data input and working with figures
- Demonstrated excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated well-developed working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
- An ability to work under limited supervision and as a part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles (accounts payable and receivable)
- Possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
- Currently possess, or be willing to obtain a National Police Check and a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
- Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training
