The Opportunity
Due to an increased operational requirement, SIRROM has an immediate opportunity for a Roving Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training Advisor to join the HSE team on a FIFO basis to support the site operations teams.
As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will initially be working a flexible varied roster based on SIRROM sites in remote WA & NT.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Managers, the Roving Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting and coaching the likes of site managers and head chefs as well as an integral role in the contribution of promoting safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work ethics and safety culture to our employees.
This role would be ideal for a flexible person seeking to gain exposure across various clients in multiple industries such as mining, hospitality, local government (shires) and construction, to gain valuable insights and experiences in different operational environments.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support multiple sites in a roving capacity
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Sirrom Corporate, operations and client site management teams to assist with achieving goals and objectives
* Coach and mentor our leaders on role obligations
* Conduct safety inspections and audits
* Conduct incident investigations
* Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) Assessments
* Coordinate safety meetings and other safety programs online
* Manage incident records on the Sirrom Safety Management System and client systems such as INX
* Assist to produce statistical reports for manager's and the leadership team
* Provide safety training as required
* Maintain relevant training registers
* Support with injury management
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV) - mandatory
* Tertiary qualification in Training and Assessing (minimum Certificate IV TAE) - mandatory
* 3 years' experience in a similar role (fly-in-fly-out)
* Demonstrated success conducting incident investigations, safety inspections and audits
* Incident Investigation training such as ICAM will be an advantage
* Demonstrated understanding and application of various safety management systems
* Flexibility and ability to travel to sites on a varied / flexible roster, on short but reasonable notice
* Ability to identify and instigate business improvement initiatives
* Demonstrated initiative and creative problem-solving skills
