Job Title: Senior Assistant Accountant
Burger Urge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and deliver accurate weekly KPI and performance reports
* Manage payroll administration on a weekly basis
* Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
* Review and correct team errors to ensure financial accuracy
* Complete statutory lodgements and month-end processes including reconciliations and P&L analysis
* Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and manage intercompany accounts
* Analyse purchasing behaviour and KPIs to identify trends, risks, or potential fraud
* Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries
* Support financial benchmarking and analysis of network performance
* Assist with additional administrative and financial duties as directed by the Finance Manager and CFO
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting roles
* Proficiency in Xero is essential
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll laws; experience with TANDA is highly regarded
* Familiarity with both state and federal statutory requirements
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
