In this exciting new role you will lead a new team of six skilled professionals and be part of the Resource Recovery Team who design and deliver creative and circular solutions for residents aimed to:
Reduce waste generation per capita by 15% by 2030;Divert 90% of residential waste (35% as source separated recycling) away from landfill by 2050.
The Service and Policy Manager will be the City’s leading expert in waste planning, policy and service design and will be responsible for ensuring the City’s residents are delivered efficient and sustainable waste and recycling services by designing and delivering effective policy, smart planning and equitable charging mechanisms.
The successful candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications, at degree level, in a related discipline and extensive relevant knowledge and significant experience in service design, waste management and resource recovery issues in the built environment, waste policy and governance.
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience developing and implementing policy, applying relevant legislation and ensuring it’s compliance.
Well-developed knowledge, advanced understanding and extensive demonstrated experience in project management and leading, developing and delivering successful service design projects in an operational environment.
Extensive applicable knowledge of service design tools, technologies and data management and highly developed oral, written and presentation communication skills.
Advanced leadership skills and demonstrated experience managing staff effectively, working with and fostering relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes and extensive experience negotiating, resolving conflicts and reconciling competing interests
Holds a valid class C drivers licence
