The Water and Wastewater - Operations Unit is seeking a dependable and committed Pump Station Assistant to work as part of a team that is passionate about providing public health for our community and the protection of the environment. They will do this by working as a team to service and maintain our network of sewage pumping stations and conduct sewer rising main valving to ensure efficient and reliable operation as well as minimising the risk of blockages, odours and overflows.
This role is a maximum-term of 12 months.

The position may also be required to work at the pump stations outside of normal working hours during infrequent times of emergency operation.

**We are seeking**:
- Basic understanding and general knowledge of the operation of a sewer network and sewerage pump stations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work responsibly and independently on tasks
- The ability and willingness to work in confined spaces (such as sewer manholes and pump station wells)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Tweed Shire water and sewer reticulation network (desirable).
