Join the team at headspace Ballarat as a First Nations Youth Worker and make a real impact in your community In this exciting and rewarding role, you?ll provide culturally safe, strengths-based support to young people aged 12 to 25 - helping them build confidence, stay connected to culture, and improve their mental health and wellbeing.
You'll work alongside a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of health professionals, youth workers, and clinicians, delivering one-on-one support, mental health treatment, and referrals, while also engaging with families, Elders, and community groups. Your cultural knowledge, lived experience, and passion for empowering young people will be at the heart of everything you do.

Ballarat Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation that?s been creating healthy communities through the provision of accessible, affordable and quality health and wellbeing services for over 45 years.
We deliver a range of primary health, social care and community-based support to meet local community needs. We have approximately 300 staff, with seven (7) locations across Ballarat and the Western Region.

What you will bring to the team:
Experience working with young people,particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, with knowledge of mental health, AOD issues, sexual health, and current challenges impacting wellbeing.
Skilled in intake, assessment, and case management,with the ability to identify emerging mental health concerns and develop culturally appropriate support plans.
Confident in delivering brief interventions and therapeutic support,using a culturally safe and strengths-based approach to engage and empower young people.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including families, Elders, community services, and multidisciplinary teams.
A collaborative and community-minded attitude, with initiative, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to culturally responsive, youth-focused care.
