Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist – Hand Therapy
Specialist Hand & Upper Limb Therapist
Hands UP Rehab | Byford, WA
Flexible role with opportunity to grow
Foundational Therapist Position
Help shape the future of specialist upper limb rehabilitation in our community.
Hands UP Rehab is entering an exciting stage of growth, and we are ready to welcome our first employed therapist into the practice.
This is not a high-volume corporate role.
This is not a stepping-stone position.
This is an opportunity to be part of building a specialist clinic committed to excellence.
We are looking for the right person — and we are open to shaping the role accordingly.
About Hands UP Rehab
Hands UP Rehab is a specialist hand and upper limb clinic providing evidence-based care for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
We work closely with local GPs and specialist surgeons and manage a diverse caseload including post-surgical rehabilitation, fractures, tendon injuries and chronic upper limb conditions.
Our clinic is known for:
• Detailed, thoughtful clinical reasoning
• High-quality custom orthosis fabrication
• Advanced treatment technology including Class IV laser therapy
• Close collaboration with referrers
• Professional, warm and personalised patient care
Our vision is to become the leading specialist upper limb service in our region — delivering metropolitan-level expertise within a growing local community.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who:
• Has experience in private practice, orthopaedics, or upper limb rehabilitation (or a strong interest in developing this)
• Values precision, high standards and continual development
• Is looking for a long-term professional home
• Enjoys autonomy within a supportive environment
• Is motivated to contribute to a growing practice
This role will initially be part-time with flexibility, with strong potential to expand.
For the right person, there is opportunity to take on a growing caseload and play a key role in the next stage of the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and treat a wide range of hand and upper limb conditions
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans
• Fabricate custom splints and orthoses
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, GPs and allied health professionals
• Educate patients to support recovery and long-term outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
About You
You might be:
• An experienced hand therapist looking for a more intentional, flexible or community-based role
• A therapist with upper limb or orthopaedic experience ready to specialise
• A developing clinician motivated to build a career in hand therapy
You will:
• Be an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with AHPRA registration
• Have strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
• Be motivated to learn and develop
• Value doing excellent work
• Want a long-term role where you can grow
Experience in hand therapy is welcomed, but not essential for the right person.
What We Offer
• Direct support and guidance
• Exposure to complex upper limb cases
• Opportunity to develop advanced splinting skills
• Access to innovative treatment modalities
• Strong administrative support
• A growing referral base and community reputation
There is genuine opportunity for this role to grow — including increased hours and future responsibility for the right person.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be competitive and reflective of experience and value brought to the role.
Why This Role Is Different
You will not be one of many therapists in a large organisation.
You will be part of building a specialist clinic from the ground up — with real opportunity to influence how it grows.
This role will suit someone who wants to be part of something meaningful and stay long term.
To Apply
Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your interest in a long-term career in hand and upper limb therapy to:
