Trust & Safety protects donors, fundraiser organizers, beneficiaries, and the company from financial crimes and abuse.

The position involves conducting high-quality due diligence reviews to verify the authenticity of fundraisers, campaign organizers, and beneficiaries, including identity verification, KYC information, and reviewing fundraisers for indicators of fraud or financial crime. You will apply established risk criteria to identify and escalate high-risk cases and support compliance while maintaining a trusted platform.

Responsibilities

* Review identity verification results and supporting documentation to confirm customer identity and authenticity of fundraisers and beneficiaries.
* Perform sanctions and watchlist screening and identify potential PEPs, adverse media, or other risk indicators requiring further review.
* Review fundraiser and account attributes for indicators of fraud, abuse, or financial crime using risk signals; escalate cases per defined procedures.
* Conduct onboarding due diligence on organizations, including verification of entity information and ownership details where required.
* Document findings clearly in internal case management systems to support escalation decisions, audits, and downstream investigations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payments Risk, Content Risk, Legal, Customer Care, Compliance) to resolve due diligence inquiries.
* Respond to customer inquiries related to identity verification and due diligence requirements, balancing risk mitigation with a positive user experience.
* Build familiarity with common fraud and financial crime risks on the platform to aid in identifying and escalating higher-risk cases.
* Support the team during crisis situations by prioritizing reviews of crisis fundraisers and assisting affected customers and stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred.
* 1-3 years of experience in operations, payments, financial services, fraud prevention, compliance, or related field with knowledge of merchant processing behaviours.
* Familiarity with customer due diligence identity verification, financial crime risk indicators, and KYC standards; understanding of their application to a merchant and the wider financial ecosystem.
* Empathetic, customer-focused, with ability to balance risk mitigation and positive user experience.
* Proactive, adaptable to evolving requirements and industry guidance.
* Strong individually-driven performance while contributing to the team's operational performance.
* Ability to work with ambiguity in a dynamic environment and adapt to process and policy changes.
* Effective collaboration with a distributed global team and ability to work autonomously in remote or hybrid settings.
* Self-starter with ownership and accountability; strong attention to detail and risk escalation ability.
* Fast learner, initiative-taker, and commitment to quality; excellent organizational skills to manage priorities.
* Clear and concise written and oral communication; English proficiency at C1 level.
* Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking.
